MEMORIES AND MIRAGES
MEMORIES ET MIRAGES
ERINNERUNGEN UND TRUGBILDER
ВОСПОМИНАНИЯ И МИРАЖИ
I am indebted to the following friends who made this collection possible by volunteering to translate the poems, gratis, into French, German, and Russian, as a labor of love.
Mary Guibert & Jeanne Kent (USA) [French]
Thomas & Manuela Giebel (Germany) [Deutsch]
Лиана Иремадзе (Liana Iremadze) (Georgia) [Русский]
Thanks to their help, each of the twenty-one poems in this book may be read in all or any of four languages — English, French, German, and Russian.
This e-book version enjoys a distinct advantage over the print version. The print version has the original poem and its three translations together, instead of in separate language sections. This e-book version goes one better and offers the best of both worlds. Using the power of hyperlinks at the foot of each poem, it is possible to switch from one language to the other with ease, while also making it possible to read all the poems in a single language consecutively, if one chose to do so. The wonders of technology!
To buy an e-book edition of this book, please select the format of your choice, and click the ‘Purchase‘ button. For assistance with choosing a format, please go to the ‘Which Format?’ tab.
Reviews
Writer’s Digest [2013/01/16]
This ambitious collection is an exercise in both simplicity and multilingualism. The poems are wrought with emotional depth but are still accessible to the lay reader.
I found this to be a beautifully done chapbook enhanced by its uniqueness.
Kudos – job well done, above and beyond!

The back-cover blurb
Have you longed for poetry that you could understand and enjoy?
Here are twenty-one such.
Simple, yet profound.
Subtle, but not convoluted.
Some amusing, others serious.
But all thought-provoking.
The poet combines the heart and the mind to draw startling parallels out of ordinary, everyday images.
In the tradition of great poetry, you will find in every poem the warmth of love, the bond of humanity.
If you are multilingual you can enjoy these poems in English, French, German, and Russian.
