Coming to Shillong in April,
At the very cusp of spring,
Hoping to view the rolling hills
Before the rainy season sets in
And pelts the earth from June
With downpours unrivalled.
But Mother Nature had other plans.
From the very next day it was
Thunder, lightning, and even hail,
And rains matching the monsoon,
Still a good two months away,
And the sun? Unseen, veiled by gloom.
No picnics or even a sightseeing spin –
Confined indoors with the family.
But who could ask for anything more!
